Mullen Associates has its roots in the original ABM corporation founded in West Palm Beach Florida in 1987. The need for some "back to basic" training became apparent from the sales calls Hank Mullen was making as a account manager for Consolidated Freightways (CF) in Fort Lauderdale Florida in the mid 1980's.
Basic questions such as:
- What is the correct freight class for my shipments?
- How do I file a claim?
- What weight break is best to use for small package shipments vs LTL?
- Bill of Lading terms.
- Rules tariff.
- Pricing tariff.
- Fair market discounts.
The idea of "sharing of expertise" became one of the core concepts of the company. A educated consumer is our best customer. Today each customer has unlimited access to the transportation 101 application that Mullen Associates developed. The application at present is 9,057 files, 728 folders, 2.13 GB. (2,298,265,600 bytes) and grows hourly. The information, charts, graphs, spreadsheets and sharepoint application is information obtained from our customers and consultants in real world situations,
We have always:
- Shared our expertise and recommendations to the Client
- provided negotiations of shipping rates, service levels, tariffs, small package shipments, less than truckload (LTL), truckload (TL),
- rail, air, ocean, international shipping, mail room, and local cartage arrangements
- recommened and reviewed existing and additional reputable and reliable carriers for the purpose of reducing future shipping charges and new products.
